Is this a new tax?

No. This is not a new tax. This is a renewal of the ¼-cent sales tax that Joplin citizens passed in 2001 and renewed in 2011. Revenues from the tax have been and will continue to be used to complete parks projects and make stormwater projects in Joplin.
