Single-family residential customers on the franchise trash program through Republic Trash Services may set out approved bulky items with weekly trash pickup. Items accepted include furniture, mattresses, televisions, solid paint, tree limbs and brush bundled and cut to 4' maximum lengths, microwave ovens, dry carpet bundled to 50 pounds max and 4' max, and small amounts of bundled or containerized construction and demolition debris.
Unacceptable items include oils, lead acid batteries, appliances, railroad ties, liquid paint, tires, commercial waste, and large amounts of construction and demolition debris.

The City's bulky item drop-off service provider is Waste Corporation of America (WCA), . Residents will be allowed to drop off up to 2,000 pounds of bulky items, such as limited amounts of construction debris, furniture, brush, tree limbs, and tires. Fees for the bulky items drop-off service are divided in half between the resident and the City. Residents will pay $9 for up to 2,000 pounds brought in by car, pick-up truck, or a trailer less than eight feet in length. For loads brought on a trailer eight feet or longer, the fee will be $11. Tires are assessed at $2.50 each and no more than five tires can be brought in one load.
The transfer station does not accept liquids/chemicals, appliances, hazardous material, regular weekly trash, commercial waste, lead acid batteries, or leaves/grass clippings.
WCA’s hours for drop-off are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday. The facility is located at 3700 W. 7th Street, on the south side of 7th Street, just west of Schifferdecker Avenue. City ordinances and state and federal laws prohibit the discharge of some materials into the sanitary sewer system. If your business has a sewage discharge that is composed of a higher concentration of pollutants than domestic or residential waste, call the Public Works Department at 417-624-0820 ext. 1500 to receive information about permitting, pretreatment requirements and charges. Failure to do so may result in civil and criminal penalties.

If you have a complaint concerning your commercial trash collection service, please try to resolve it with the private waste hauler with whom you signed up for service.
