On May 6, 2014, officers with the Joplin Police Department along with the Jasper County Drug Task Force arrested Ron N. King Jr., age 22, in the area of 20th and Delaware for the following offenses: Assault 1st Degree, Armed criminal action, Felonious restraint, and Unlawful use of a weapon. These charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 2, 2014 at 1302 E. Furnace Street, Joplin, MO where Mr. King held a gun to the head of Virginia Davidson. He also prevented her from leaving during this time leading to the felonious restraint charge.

A second count of Unlawful use of a weapon stems from an event that occurred on April 25, 2014 in the 200 block of S. Mckee Ave. where King is alleged to have fired a gun twice in the presence of two or more persons in an angry or threatening manner.

Paperwork has been submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s office for the filing of charges.
