Industrial Fire, 2702 W 9th. Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Industrial fire at 2702 W 9th at 1737 this evening. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 1744 to find light smoke coming from an exhaust filter for grit blast, located outside of the south end of the building. Fire fighters applied water to the exhaust filter and extinguished the fire. The fire was declared under control at 1805.
The Industry is known Thermal Engineering International, a manufacturer of tube and shell heat exchangers.
There were no injuries to anyone during the incident. 5 Joplin Fire units and 19 Joplin Fire personnel initially responded, with 2 trucks and 9 personnel remaining to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
