[ARCHIVED] Early Morning Burglary Under Investigation

Joplin Police are investigating a 1st degree burglary that occurred early this morning. At 02:21 hours dispatch received a call of a past tense burglary at 2721 N Beale Ave. Officers responded and made contact with the 63 year female victim, who is the resident of the home. The victim stated that two suspects, a white male, and a black male, both wearing cloth masks, broke into her residence and robbed her at knife point. The suspects loaded up several items into the victim’s vehicle and left the residence. Among items stolen were prescription medication, cash and electronics.

The victim’s vehicle was later located by a patrol officer at approximately 05:00 hours this morning in the 2700 block of North Range line.

Further investigation by Patrol Officers on scene led them to 2802 N. Santa Fe where two male subjects were contacted. As a result of the follow up investigation, two individuals are currently in custody. Names of the suspects are currently being withheld pending further investigation.

Investigators are currently conducting a follow up investigation and as the case progresses additional information will be released.
