[ARCHIVED] Narcotics Arrests Made from Car Stop

On October 25, 2013 at approximately 1:07AM an officer with the Joplin Police Department made a car stop in the parking lot of the Legacy Inn located at 2830 E. 36th Street. The officer recognized the driver of the vehicle, Jeremy Mclean, as having a revoked driver’s license in the State of Missouri. The officer contacted Mr. Mclean and two other passengers in the vehicle. There was another subject that was by the vehicle whenever the officer contacted them and he ran into a hotel room. Officers later determined that this subject, Travis Doty, was in the vehicle and contacted him in the hotel room where he was later arrested.

The officer obtained consent to search the vehicle from Mclean. During the search of the vehicle, the officer located several baggies of a white crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine as well as a pipe with burnt residue. The total weight of the methamphetamine was 43 grams with an estimated street value of $3,700. The officer also seized $958.00 in cash which was found on Mr. Mclean’s person.

The following were arrested and paperwork has been sent to the Newton County Prosecutor for formal charges.

Jeremy Mclean, a 31 year old male with an address in rural Joplin, was arrested for Driving While Revoked, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Stephanie Crase, a 22 year old female with an address of 1711 W. 4th, a passenger of the vehicle, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Crase also had an active warrant out of Newton County for Failure to Appear on a felony possession of marijuana.

Shenoah Stewart, a 26 year old female with an address in Diamond, a passenger of the vehicle, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Travis Doty, a 30 year old male of rural Joplin, who was determined to be a passenger of the vehicle, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
