On August 14, 2013 at approximately 6:00 P.M. officers with the Joplin Police Department responded to the area of 7th and St. Louis in reference to a shots fired call. It was determined that the incident actually took place at 528 S. St. Charles. Officers determined that a male subject, Al Shaw, had arrived at the residence and began to get into an argument with a female resident there. During the argument, another male, William Richardson, came out of the residence and became involved in the argument. Mr. Shaw then got into his vehicle to leave the area. As Mr. Shaw was leaving in his vehicle, the second male subject, William Richardson, fired several shots at the subject’s vehicle. Some of the rounds struck his vehicle; however, none of the rounds hit the victim, Al Shaw.

Officers made contact with Mr. Richardson at 528 S. St. Charles and he was arrested for Shooting into a Vehicle which is a Class B Felony and for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Charges have been sent to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office for review. The firearm was recovered from Mr. Richardson.
