On July 20th, 2013 at approximately 7:49 P.M., the Webb City Fire Department was called to respond to a reported structure fire located at 1802 South Oronogo Street, Webb City, Mo. 64870.
On arrival, fire crews found a two-story, multifamily dwelling with smoke and flames coming from the roof. Additional units responded from Joplin, Duenweg, Carterville, and Oronogo Fire Departments to assist. The fire was under control at 9:09 P.M., and the fire was extinguished at 9:56 P.M.
All occupants of the structure were able to get out before the fire units arrived. There were no injuries. METS ambulance provided on site rehabilitation for the firefighters, and the Red Cross assisted with the displaced occupants. Traffic was controlled by members of the Webb City Police Department as well as the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Members of the Webb City Water Department assisted with assuring adequate water flow for the suppression efforts.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to assist with the investigation. After completion of the investigation, the fire cause is being classified as undetermined.
