Structure Fire, W 9th St and Harlem Ave., Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at the intersection of W 9th Street and Harlem Ave. Time of call was 2249 hours on Wednesday evening, 22 June. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 2253 hours to find a one story wood frame residence showing heavy smoke and fire. The residence appeared to be abandoned as there were no utilities in place and several windows were covered in metal or plywood. The fire was extinguished. Crews remained on scene until 0128 hours Thursday morning.
6 Joplin Fire units and 18 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD, and METS. There were no injuries on the scene. Ownership information was not available at the time of the report.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
