[ARCHIVED] Joplin Police Will Begin to Offer Accident Reports to Citizens Through Carfax

Recently the Joplin Police Department began utilizing services through Carfax to make accident reports accessible to citizens on-line for purchase. If a citizen is involved in an accident and an accident report is completed, they can get the report on-line by going to www.crashdocs.org and entering the last name of the person involved, date of incident, and the accident report number. This service will allow the citizen the ability to obtain the accident report in the convenience of their home or workplace without having to come to the Police Department to obtain the copy.

Carfax will charge a convenience fee of $5.50 in addition to the Police Department’s charge of $2.00 for the accident report. If the person involved would rather still come to the police department to obtain a copy and not pay the convenience fee, then that will still be an option.

Our goal with offering this service is to make obtaining these reports more convenient for the persons involved in the crash.

If you have questions about a particular accident please contact us and we can provide further details.
