Structure Fire, 1406 S Sergeant Ave, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a grease fire on a stove at 1406 S. Sergeant. Time of call was 0037 hours on Saturday morning, 22 June. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 0043 hours to find a two story wood frame structure with nothing showing. While conducting a walk around, the located a grease fire on a stove in the kitchen with flame impinging the kitchen wall. Crews extinguished the fire and ventilated the house. No occupants were located. Crews remained on scene until 0200 hours.
5 Joplin Fire units and 14 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD, and METS. There were no injuries on the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
