Structure Fire, 2221 S Sergeant, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to an initial report of a fire under the house at 2221 S Sergeant. Time of call was 0047 hours Thursday morning, 30 May. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 0053 hours to find a vacant single story wood frame structure with heavy smoke coming from the front and heavy flame from the back half. Crews established a defensive perimeter and proceeded to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene until 0405 hours Thursday morning.
5 Joplin Fire units and 20 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD, and METS. There were no injuries on the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
