Structure Fire, 610 N Pearl Ave, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from 610 N Pearl Ave. Time of call was 2258 hours Tuesday evening, 23 April. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 2103 hours to find a two story wood frame structure with smoke showing, apparently abandoned. Crews found an open door to the basement at the rear of the structure with heavy smoke coming from the opening. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and ventilate the structure. Crews remained on scene until 0105 hours.
5 Joplin Fire units and 24 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD, and METS.
No one was injured on the scene.
The cause of the fire was determined to be incendiary in nature.
