Structure Fire, 1509 S Jackson, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from an attic of a multi-family dwelling at 1509 S Jackson. Time of call was 0834 hours Thursday morning, 07 March. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 0838 hours to find smoke coming from the attic. Crews extinguished the fire and stayed to eject smoke from the house.
5 Joplin Fire units and 17 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD, METS and the ARC. No one was injured on the scene. Crews remained on scene until 0958 hours. Occupant information is unavailable at this time.
The cause of the fire was determined to be arcing from electrical wiring.
