The City of Joplin will test the Outdoor Warning Sirens today, August 10, at 10 AM. This is only a test.
Sirens are normally tested, weather permitting, on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 AM.
As a review, the sirens are outdoor warning devices that are used to alert people who are out of doors to go indoors and seek shelter.
Outdoor sirens are used to warn of an impending locally severe weather event. More information about the
Outdoor Warning Sirens can be found on the City's website.
