Structure Fire, 2444 E 11th, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2444 E 11th, at 2235 hours Sunday evening, 13 January. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 2239 hour to find a one story, wood frame structure with smoke coming from a garage in the basement. The fire was extinguished and an exhaust fan was used to clear the smoke. Crews remained on scene until 2352. Fire damage was contained to the basement garage.
5 Joplin Fire units and 18 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with JPD and METS. No one was injured on the scene.
The cause of the fire was determined to be hot embers dumped into some trash.
