SUBJECT:      Residential Structure Fire, 4323 W. 27th Place

On Friday April 24, 2020, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 4323 W. 27th Place at 4:25 AM. The first arriving crew arrived on scene at 4:31 AM and found a single-story wood frame residence with fire and smoke coming from the rear of the structure. Crews made an interior attack and found fire in the living room area. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire however, there was moderate heat and smoke damage throughout the residence. The building was occupied at the time of the fire and all occupants were able to get out safely and uninjured.


The Joplin Fire Department responded with 7 units and 20 personnel.


The fire department was assisted by METS Ambulance Service and the Joplin Police Department.


There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel.


The Joplin Fire Marshal investigated the cause but at the time of this press release the cause has been undetermined.
