Structure Fire, 319 W 14th, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Structure fire at 319 W 14th at 1816 hours Wednesday evening, 26 December. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 1816 hours to find smoke and flames coming from the second floor of a two story residential structure. The fire was extinguished and crews remained on scene until 2109. Fire and smoke damage was severe in nature and the house is currently uninhabitable. Home ownership information is unavailable at this time.
5 Joplin Fire units and 18 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with JPD and METS. No one was injured on the scene. 5 adults and 3 children escaped the structure and the American Red Cross was called to provide care for them.
The cause of the fire was electrical.
