SUBJECT:      Structure Fire, 1815 S Moffet Ave.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at 7:24 AM, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a possible structure fire at 1815 S Moffet Ave. The first crew arrived at 7:32 AM to find a residential structure with smoke and flame showing. Crews entered the structure and extinguished the fire.  They remained on scene until 9:39 AM.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with 6 units and 16 personnel. The Fire Department was assisted by METS Ambulance Service and the Joplin Police Department. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel.

The cause of the fire was ruled as a lightning strike.
