Structure Fire, 218 South Main, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Structure fire at 218 South Main Street at Caldone’s Restaurant at 12:49 pm Thursday November 22th, 2012. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 12:50 pm to find light smoke conditions from the basement of the restaurant, a two story masonry commercial building. The fire was declared under control and extinguished at 12:52 pm. Fire damage was minor and Smoke damage was moderate in nature.
The building is owned by Donnie and Karuleen Bennett of Joplin.
There were no injuries to the occupants or fire crews during the incident. 6 Joplin Fire units and 18 Joplin Fire personnel responded.
The fire was contained to a pile of discarded rags in the basement are of the building and was determined to be accidental in nature.
