SUBJECT:      Structure Fire 215 E 34th Street

On Tuesday, 24 July, 2018, at approximately 7:11 AM the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 215 E 34th Street. The first crew arrived on scene at 7:13 AM to find a house with moderate black smoke showing. Crews extinguished the fire and overhauled the scene. Fire crews remained on scene until 10:33 AM.


There were no injuries to firefighting crews.  The house was occupied at the time of the fire. One person was transported by Newton County Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital to be checked for injuries.


The Joplin Fire Department responded with 6 units and 17 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.


The cause of fire is under investigation.
