SUBJECT:      Structure Fire 3107 S Missouri Ave

On Tuesday, 05 June, 2018, at approximately 4:06 PM the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 3107 S Missouri Ave. The first crew arrived on scene at 4:10 PM to find a single-story wood frame structure with light smoke showing, no visible flames. Crews made an interior attack and extinguished a fire on top of a refrigerator. Damage was confined to the kitchen with heavy heat and smoke damage throughout the structure. Fire crews remained on scene until 5:25 PM.

There were no injuries to firefighting crews of civilians.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with 6 units and 14 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service. The American Red Cross was contacted to provide aid to the occupants.

The cause of fire remains under investigation.
