Structure Fire, 501 S Michigan, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 501 S Michigan, at 2210 hours Sunday night. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a wood framed residential structure with flames coming from the front door and windows. The fire was extinguished at 2226 hours and crews remained on scene until 0056 hours.
A total of 5 trucks and 18 firefighters worked the scene. JPD and METS were on standby. No one was injured at the scene.
The house is rented by Mary Ioanis and owned by Josephine Waterford.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at the time of this report.
