SUBJECT: Structure Fire at 2015 W 15th

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2015 W 15th on Monday, 05 March, at 9:39 PM. The 911 call was made by a neighbor who reported her dogs alerted her that something was wrong. The first crew arrived at 9:42 PM and found a single-story wood framed structure with heavy smoke and flames showing. While the house sustained extensive smoke and heat damage throughout, the main area of damage was in the kitchen. The fire was declared under control at 10 PM.  Crews remained on scene until 11:29 PM.


The house was not occupied at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews.


The Fire Department responded with 6 apparatus and 18 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.


The cause of fire remains under investigation.
