[ARCHIVED] Wind Chill Advisory Through Noon Tuesday

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING

TO NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills

  will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed

  skin. Expect wind chills to range from 10 above zero to 25

  below zero.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central and

  southwest Missouri.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to noon CST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest and most dangerous wind chill

  values will occur on New Year’s Eve night into New Year’s Day.

  The Wind Chill Advisory may be upgraded to a Wind Chill Warning

  for portions of the area during this timeframe.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will

combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can

occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and

gloves.
