Structure Fire, 2550 S Iowa, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2550 S Iowa, at 0534 hours Wednesday morning. Fire crews arrived on scene to find an abandoned house, owned by Mary James, with heavy smoke and flames showing. Firefighters had the fire under control at 0609 hours. Crews cleared the scene at 0907 hours.
A total of 6 trucks and 18 firefighters worked the scene. No one was injured at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at the time of this writing.
