[ARCHIVED] Flash Flood Watch Thru Sunday Evening, 06 August

127 PM CDT Fri Aug 4 2017

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH

SUNDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Kansas and

  Missouri, including most of SWMO.

* From Saturday morning through Sunday evening

* Periods of intense rainfall will be possible starting early

Saturday morning, and continuing through Sunday afternoon.

Widespread amounts of one to three inches will be possible for

areas along and north of a line from Neosho to Salem Missouri.

Localized amounts of up to five inches cannot be ruled out if

thunderstorms train over a particular location.

* Flash flooding in the Ozarks often leads to fast flowing water

over low water crossings. Anyone navigating areas across

southeast Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks over the weekend should

remain aware of any flooded roadways.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
