Structure Fire, 2409 E Lockewood Drive, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Structure fire at 2409 E. Lockewood Drive at 11:43 am Sunday October 28th, 2012. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 11:52 hrs. to find heavy fire and smoke conditions from the attic and rear of the single story residential structure. The fire was declared under control at 14:18 pm and declared out at 14:50 pm. Fire damage was severe in nature and the home is considered a total loss.
The home is owned and occupied by Steve and Diana Graddy who were not home at the time of the fire.
There were no injuries to the owner or fire crews during the incident. 8 Joplin Fire units and 22 Joplin Fire personnel responded.
The cause of the fire was determined to be malfunction of a pet heating pad on the basement patio of the home.
