SUBJECT:      Structure Fire at 4419 W 28th

           

  • CONTACT:    Keith Stammer, Joplin Fire Department

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 4419 W 28th PL, on Sunday, 04 June, at 3:33 PM. The first crew arrived at 3:39 PM. On arrival fire personnel found a single-story wood framed residential structure with smoke showing from all sides. Damage was heaviest in the master bedroom suite, with additional smoke and water damage throughout the house. Crews extinguished the fire and remained on scene until 6:39 PM.

  • There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews. The house is owned by Greg Crawford.
  • The Fire Department responded with 6 apparatus and 16 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service. The American Red Cross assisted the residents.
  • The fire remains under investigation by the JFD Fire Marshall.
