...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM CDT FRIDAY THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Kansas and
Missouri, including the following areas, in southeast Kansas,
Bourbon, Cherokee, and Crawford. In Missouri, Barton, Benton,
Cedar, Dade, Hickory, Jasper, McDonald, Newton, St. Clair, and
Vernon.

* From 1 AM CDT Friday through Saturday morning

* Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to
track across the region tonight into Saturday. Rainfall amounts
of 2 to 3 inches with locally heavier amounts are expected
across southeastern Kansas and western Missouri.

* This rainfall will lead to the potential of flooding of low-
lying areas including low water crossings and rise on creeks and
streams.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
