...Funnel Clouds Reported Over Western Missouri and Southeastern
Kansas...

Law enforcement and the general public have reported several
funnel clouds near the Joplin area this afternoon. These funnel
clouds are not associated with severe thunderstorms and do not
pose a significant threat to life and property. These cold air
funnels generally form at the base of cumulus clouds, are short
lived, and rarely touch down. As the sun begins to set this
evening, this funnel cloud activity is expected to dissipate.

Once again, these funnel clouds are not associated with severe
thunderstorms, and do not pose a significant threat to life and
property.
