[ARCHIVED] Structure Fire at 2621 E Xenia


The Joplin Fire Department responded to a structure at 2621 E Xenia on Monday January 9, 2017 at 8:52 PM. The first arriving crew arrived at 8:56 PM and found a single story wood frame residence with light smoking coming from the residence. Fire crews made a quick attack and were able to confine the fire to the basement and extinguish it quickly. Fire was brought under control 9:15 PM and completely extinguished at 9:30 PM. Crews did primary and secondary searches of the residence and found that all occupants were accounted for.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews. The fire department responded with 7 apparatus and 25 personnel. The fire department was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service. The fire was investigated by the Joplin Fire Department and determined to be electrical in nature.
