SUBJECT:      Structure Fire at 719 S Indiana

           

  • CONTACT:    James Furgerson, Fire Chief, Joplin Fire Department
  • The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 719 S Indiana on Wednesday, 14 December, at 9:20 PM. The first crew arrived at 9:24 PM and found a single story wood framed residential structure with smoke and fire showing. Fire crews made a quick attack on the fire and were able to confine the fire to the kitchen and a bedroom. Crews remained on scene until 11:54 PM.
  • The structure was occupied by Elizabeth Kinnaird and two toddlers.  All were able to exit before the fire spread.
  • There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews.
  • The fire department responded with 6 apparatus and 17 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.
  • The fire remains under investigation at this time.
