Structure Fire, 1601 E Campbell Pkwy, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1601 E Campbell Pkwy, at 1935 hours Tuesday evening. Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke and fire in a 2nd story apartment. All occupants were out of the structure when the FD arrived. Firefighters put out the fire and declared it under control at 1947 hours. The fire was contained to the wood shell around the fire place, keeping the fire contained to the chase.
A total of 5 trucks and 15 firefighters worked the scene. JPD and METS aided. No one was injured at the scene.
The cause of the fire was fireplace related.
