Structure Fire, 1604 E Central, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1604 E Central, at 2026 hours Thursday evening. Fire crews arrived on scene to find an unattached garage fully engulfed in flame. Firefighters put out the fire and declared it under control at 2049 hours. The garage was a total loss. The house on the same property suffered damage to an eave. A pickup truck on property to the south was also damaged.
A total of 5 trucks and 20 firefighters worked the scene. JPD and METS aided. No one was injured at the scene.
The house was abandoned. Property ownership information is unavailable at this time.
The cause of the fire was undetermined.
