Structure Fire, 322 N Maple, Joplin, MO.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 322 N Maple at 2:52 AM, Tuesday, 26 January, 2016. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 2:57 AM to find a single story wood framed residential structure with smoke and flames coming from the back third of the structure. Crews entered the structure and extinguished the fire, then opened ceilings and walls to finish the extinguishment.
The fire was declared under control at 3:28 AM and crews remained on scene until 6:02 AM. Occupant information is not available at this time.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel. 6 Joplin Fire units and 19 Joplin Fire personnel responded, as well as JPD and METS. The American Red Cross was notified to provide services to the occupants.
The cause of the fire was investigated by the Joplin fire Marshall who ruled it as accidental electrical.
