Structure Fire, 129 S Florida, Joplin, MO.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 129 S Florida Ave. at 2:44 AM. Wednesday, 18 November, 2015. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 2:48 AM to find a single story wood framed residential structure with smoke showing from an attached garage. JPD on scene advised that the single occupant was out of the structure, no one else inside. Crews entered the garage and extinguished the fire, then cleared any remaining smoke with positive pressure ventilation.
The fire was declared under control at 3:13 AM and crews remained on scene until 4:45 AM. The house was occupied by Tara Stinson.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. 5 Joplin Fire units and 14 Joplin Fire personnel responded, as well as JPD and METS. The American Red Cross was notified to provide services to the occupant.
The cause of the fire was investigated by the Joplin fire Marshall who ruled it as “undetermined”.
