Structure Fire, 1727 S. Connor, Joplin, MO.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1727 S. Connor at 4:43 AM Monday, August 3rd, 2015. Fire crews arrived on the scene to find heavy fire involvement to the upstairs apartment of a two story duplex. The fire was confined to the second floor apartment with water damage to the lower apartment.
The fire was declared under control at 5:19 AM and remained on scene until 6:58 AM.
Occupant and ownership information is unavailable at this time.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. 6 Joplin Fire units and 16 Joplin Fire personnel responded. American Red Cross also responded to assist with displaced residents in both apartments.
The cause of the fire is listed as accidental due to a malfunction of an extension cord.
