Structure Fire, 122 N Maple, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded at 4:16 AM on Monday, 17 November, to a report of a structure fire at 122 N Maple, Joplin. Upon arrival crews found light smoke coming from the back porch/utility room. Crews quickly extinguished the fire near the water heater, declaring it under control at 4:29 AM. Crews remained on scene until 5:48 AM.
The house is owned by Wayne Whardo.
7 Fire units and 16 firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD, and METS. No one was injured on the scene.
The cause of the fire was ruled accidental in nature, debris near the water heater ignited.
