Structure Fire, 3316 S Delaware Ave, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported garage fire at 3316 S Delaware Ave at 4:00 AM, Wednesday, 30 July, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 4:04 AM to find a 1 a/2 story residential structure with light smoke showing from the garage area. The residents were using a garden hose to apply water on the SW corner of the residence. Crews extinguished burning wall materials along the garage wall. The fire was declared under control at 4:36 AM.
All occupants had escaped the structure by the time the firefighters had arrived. Crews remained on scene until 6:03 AM.
5 Fire units and 12 Firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. There were no injuries to responders or civilians.
The house is owned by Edwin Ryes.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
