Structure Fire, 931 S McKinley Ave, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 931 S McKinley Ave at 7:48 PM, Monday, 14 July, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 7:51 PM to find a structure fully involved on the exterior south side with extension into the attic. The fire had burned through the roof and self-vented. Crews placed water on the fire from the outside and extinguished it.
All occupants had escaped the structure by the time the firefighters had arrived. Crews remained on scene until 10:09 PM.
6 Fire units and 16 Firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. There were no injuries to responders or civilians. The American Red Cross was called to assist the family.
The house is owned by Mike Forrest and occupied by Lynn Adams and children..
The cause of the fire has been ruled as incendiary.
