Structure Fire, 1921 S Picher Ave, Joplin, Mo.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 1921 S Picher Ave at 8:34 AM Saturday, 21 June, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 8:39 AM to find heavy smoke coming from all eaves of the attic. The house was unoccupied and under remodel at the time. A fire was found in the kitchen area and extinguished.
The fire was declared under control at 8:59 AM and declared out at 9:40 AM. Crews remained on scene until 10:06 AM.
6 Fire units and 16 Firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. There were no injuries to responders or civilians.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
