On May 24th, at 2:10 p.m. Joplin dispatched received a call for a motor vehicle crash at 34th and Hearnes Blvd.

Billie J. Clark 49 of Joplin was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Hearnes Blvd. A Chevy Blazer driven by Paul Doner 17 of Joplin was traveling east on 34th street crossing over Hearnes Blvd. As the Blazer crossed in front of the motorcycle the two collided and Clark was thrown from the motorcycle. Clark was pronounced dead on scene. Clark was not wearing a DOT approved helmet.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Joplin Police Major Crash Team.
