Persons wishing to address the City Council regarding an item on the agenda should complete a Request to Address Council and give it to the City Clerk prior to the start of the meeting. COUNCIL BILL NO. 2023-259

AN ORDINANCE providing to vacate approximately 550 feet of Bird Avenue, approximately located between W 15th St and W Junge Boulevard, City of Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri.

AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 2022-274, passed by the Council of the City of Joplin, Missouri, August 1, 2022, by removing from District M-2 (Heavy Industrial) and including in District R-3 (Apartment House) property as described below and located approximately 200 feet East of the intersection of S. Maiden Ln. and W. 2nd St, South of W. 2nd St and North of W 4th St.

AN ORDINANCE approving a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by and between the City of Joplin and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce to participate in a partnership with the Joplin Regional Alliance for Health Care and Health Science and approving a contribution of $80,000.00 for the purpose of pursuing an economic development plan.

A RESOLUTION of the City of Joplin, Missouri, authorizing the filing of an application in pursuit of a Wastewater Regionalization Incentive Grant as administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

COUNCIL BILL NO. 2023-107

AN ORDINANCE approving an Agreement and Work Authorization with Allgeier Martin and Associates, Inc. (AMA) in the not to exceed amount of Two Million Nine Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand and 00/100 dollars ($2,926,000.00) for professional engineering consulting services for the 20th Street Widening project and authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute the same by and on behalf of the City of Joplin; and containing an emergency clause.

COUNCIL BILL NO. 2023-115

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the City of Joplin, Missouri, to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Webb City, Missouri, for the purpose of street construction improvements associated with the Zora Widening from Rangeline to MO-249 Project; authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City of Joplin; and containing an emergency clause.

AN ORDINANCE declaring the necessity of acquiring for public use certain fee simple right of way and easements for the purpose of street construction improvements associated with the Zora Widening from Rangeline to MO-249 Project; authorizing the City Manager and his designees to negotiate for the purpose of acquiring the necessary interests in land; authorizing the City Attorney and his designees to institute condemnation proceedings if such interests in land cannot be acquired by purchase through good faith negotiations; and containing an emergency clause.

Vote to go into closed session, which shall pertain to leasing, purchasing or sale of real estate by a public governmental body where public knowledge of the transaction might adversely affect the legal consideration therefore as set forth in Section 610.021 (2) RSMo, as amended, 2020. This meeting, record, and vote to be closed to the extent provided by law. The City Council shall adjourn at the end of the session.
