All boards and commission members must be a registered voter in the State of Missouri
- Board of Health (3-year term)
2 Physician appointments needed. (Must be licensed to practice in the State of Missouri) - Conventions and Visitors' Bureau Advisory Board (Joplin resident but if no other qualified applicant, then a non-resident may apply.) 2 vacancies - 1 vacancy must be a member of the media. 1 vacancy must be from hotel/motel industry.
- Solid Waste Advisory Commission (Joplin resident but if no other qualified applicant, then a non-resident may apply.)
4 vacancies - 2- Commercial/Retail business owner, 1 at large, 1 industrial - Joplin Redevelopment Corporation (3-year term) (Joplin resident but if no other qualified applicant, then a non-resident may apply.) 1 vacancy
- Board of Adjustment (5-year term) (Qualified voter of the city)
1 vacancy - Personnel Board (3- year term) (Qualified voter of the city of Joplin or the State of Missouri; Resident of city four years immediately prior to appointment.)
2 vacancies - Joplin Industrial Development Authority (6-year term) (Qualified elector and resident taxpayer for five years immediately prior to appointment.)
