Environmental Health
The programs in our Environmental Health Division seek to promote public health by addressing environmental factors that can result in human illness. These programs encompass a wide variety of efforts, including prevention, education, and responses identified problems.
Environmental health is continuously growing field and has expanded to include many areas of emphasis over the past century. Examples of environmental health efforts to promote public health include ensuring the availability of safe food and drinking water, reducing the presence of organisms that can spread disease to human populations, providing education on the best practices of promoting a sanitary environment, and responding to emergencies.
