Streets to close for MDA Ride 4 Life Event

Some downtown streets will be closed on Friday, July 9, for the MDA Ride 4 Life Cycle Connection event. Starting at 4 pm through 10 pm, Main Street from 4th Street to 7th Street will be closed for the event that takes place in the downtown area. In conjunction with this event, 5th Street from Virginia Avenue to Joplin Street and 6th Street from Virginia Avenue to Joplin Street will be closed.
Also, in preparation of this event, there will be no parking on Main Street from 12 noon to 12 midnight on Friday, July 9.
Drivers will need to utilize alternate routes during this period.
On Saturday, July 10th, starting at 11 a.m. through 11:45a.m., the MDA Ride 4 Life Cycle Connection motorcycle ride will start at Cycle Connection on South Main Street. It will travel north to 7th Street and then head west on 7th Street continuing out of town. There will be approximately 350-400 motorcycles participating in this event.
The Joplin Police Department will be assisting in routing the motorcycles through Joplin.
Motorists are asked to use caution and may wish to seek an alternate route.
