Joplin Library's summer reading program offered for all ages

Joplin Library's summer reading program offered for all ages

May 25, 2010

The whole family is encouraged to dive into the wonderful world of water this summer when they participate in one of the library’s three water-themed Summer Reading Clubs.

The Children’s Club, sponsored in part by the Exchange Club of Joplin, encourages children, preschool age through fifth grade, to “Make a Splash @ Your Library” as they enjoy programs, prizes, story times and more!

The Teen Club, for young people going into grades six through twelve, encourages teens to “Make Waves @ Your Library” and will offer weekly programs and a fun mix of prizes.

Not to be left out, the Adult Club’s catch phrase is “Water Your Mind--Read” and this club allows adults the chance to win prizes and participate in programs.

Early registration for all three Summer Reading Clubs begins on Tuesday, June 1st and special programs and prize drawings will begin the week of June 7th.

All activities are free of charge and anyone participating in the Children’s or Teen Club is eligible to receive a free library card to use for the duration of the program.

For more information and a complete schedule of events, call (417) 623-7953 or visit our website at www.joplinpubliclibrary.org.
