26th Street east of Connecticut Avenue closed for utility work

Drivers in Joplin please note that 26th Street east of Connecticut Avenue will have a full road closure for utility work, starting Monday, October 12.  Missouri American Water crews continue the repairs/replacements to a water main along 26th Street.

Residents in the affected area will still have access to their houses, by traveling east on 28th Street from Connecticut. No through traffic on 26th Street will be allowed during this phase of work. This project is expected to take approximately three months, although the road may not be closed for this full period.

Sign boards are posted along Connecticut Avenue noting this closure on east 26th Street. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in the work area. The City appreciates your patience as this project is completed.
