...FIRE WEATHER WATCH POSTED FORFRIDAY...

 

.WEATHER CONDITIONS THAT ARE IDEALFOR A RAPID SPREAD OF WILDLAND

FIRES WILL MATERIALIZE OVER EXTREMESOUTHEAST KANSAS AND THE

MISSOURI OZARKS ON FRIDAY. 

 

THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS ANDA VERY DRY AIRMASS ARE

EXPECTED AS RELATIVE HUMIDITIES FALLBELOW 30 PERCENT IN MOST 

AREAS. SOUTHWEST WIND GUSTS WILLAPPROACH 30 MPH AT TIMES. 

 

VERY DRY FUELS EXIST DUE TO DROUGHTCONDITIONS DEVELOPING ACROSS

SOUTHERN MISSOURI AND SOUTHEASTKANSAS.

The National Weather Service inSPRINGFIELD has issued a Fire

Weather Watch, which is in effectfrom Friday morning through

Friday afternoon. 

 

* WIND...WIND GUSTS WILL APPROACH 30MPH AT TIMES...WITH SUSTAINED

 WINDS AROUND 20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

 

* HUMIDITY...RELATIVE HUMIDITIESWILL FALL BELOW 30 PERCENT...AND

 DROPPING AS LOW AS 20 PERCENT IN SOME AREAS. 

 

* IMPACTS...any fires that developwill likely spread rapidly. 

 Outdoor burning is not recommended.
